Armenian Ambassador to Russia Vardan Toganyan reminded that the last time the ballet could be seen at the Bolshoi Theater 57 years ago - in February 1961.

Conductor, artistic director of the National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater of Armenia named after A. Spendiarian Konstantin Orbelian added that together with the ballet Muscovites will be able to see bright, colorful scenery and costumes restored according to the sketches of the outstanding artist Minas Avetisyan.

"It's a great joy and honor for us, the whole of Armenia looks at it: we have returned to the stage of the great Bolshoi Theater, there are absolutely new changes and interesting changes in Armenia, and it inspires new victories and new achievements," he said.

According to Orbelian, the Armenian theater of opera and ballet is going up, many premieres and new productions are planned.

The ballet "Gayane" is one of the best performances of the Armenian Opera and Ballet Theater, created in 1974 by a dancer, choreographer, folk artist Vilen Galstyan , who also became the author of the libretto. A rich arsenal of classical dance is combined in it with the characteristic features of the Armenian national dance.

Galstyan told a press conference that the production over the years has not changed. "As it was put over 40 years ago, it's the way it is," he said.

In the play, which will be held on July 24 at the Bolshoi stage, the Symphony Orchestra of the A. Spendiaryan National Opera and Ballet Theater, under the leadership of Konstantin Orbelian and Atanes Arakelyan, the ballet group of the theater. Leading soloists - Ruben Muradyan , Suzanne Pirumyan, Mary Hovhannisyan, Vahagn Margaryan, Razmik Marukyan.
